  • Promoting standards of leadership and civic participation, rooted in good character and universal ethical values.
  • Building coalitions with leaders from diverse disciplines and civil society. Leadership
  • Articulating a perspective for addressing social issues of governance and civic duty from the philosophical context of America's founding spirit and principles.
  • Bringing emphasis to the values of self-reliance, industry, personal integrity, service to others, and faith.
  • Inspiring ideas into action through educational conferences, symposia, community service projects, concerts, rallies, and commemorative gatherings, among others.

Considering Fundamental Questions / Dialoguing on Critical Issues

At the core of this initiative is the American Leadership Conference which provides a perspective on the essence of the American experiment rooted in its founding spirit and principles. That essence has been described in various ways - the American dream, the American ideal, etc. - but is fundamentally about ideas and values. The American Leadership Conference offers cutting-edge research and unique insight into those essential ideas and values that have defined America, vitally needed as we address today's serious challenges.

Through conferences, forums, webinars, and other means, the American Leadership Conference sheds light on the underlying issues impacting the crisis in character and moral breakdown that our nation is experiencing today, including:

  1. Considering "self-evident truths" and why transcendent principles are central to the unique American identity.
  2. Recognizing that the founding of America is a work in progress. Founders of our nation are still needed - men and women who endeavor that America might live out the true meaning of its creed.
  3. Clarifying the proper role of faith in the public arena through a balanced perspective on the concept of separation of church and state.
  4. Understanding the true meaning of freedom, and why virtue and good character are essential for a free people.
