Purpose:
A project of C2C to reignite the spirit of community and cooperation within American neighborhoods by:
- Encouraging neighbors to get to know each other.
- Reaching out to new residents, welcoming them to the neighborhood.
- Embracing new immigrants into each American community.
Methods for Community Engagement:
- Through the development of educational materials.
- Calling neighborhood meetings at local community centers to introduce the Good Neighbor Project and to share experiences/challenges.
- Organizing neighborhoods and selecting leaders for various levels of “community,” for example by block or street.
Activities:
- Join hands to assist needy families, such as yard work for a family in need.
- Neighborhood clean up

- Neighborhood celebrations (4th of July; youth team tournament celebrations; community members' birthdays; appreciations: veterans, firefighters, teachers, etc.)
- Make friendships and establish social networks: formation of community friendship clubs; community service clubs; culture sharing lunches and dinners; 'we are one family' picnics; etc.
- Neighborhood interfaith projects; interfaith prayers and initiatives
- Partnerships and involvement with the police department, fire stations, civic clubs, Chambers of Commerce, etc.
