The ethical dilemmas that are impacting every facet of our society have seriously eroded our national character. Call to Character (C2C) is a national campaign to awaken the essence of America's founding spirit and principles.  C2C encourages and engages our citizens to focus on the way forward with a vision for the common good, and commitment to integrity, courage, self-reliance and industry.

The Need:

The Call to Character campaign is urgently needed across our nation. Startling statistics of the daily toll resulting from the crisis in values make clear the need for action now!

Every day in America.....

  • 2,054 teens (ages 15-19) become pregnant
  • 24,657 young people (ages 15-24) contract a sexually transmitted infection
  • 89 Americans commit suicide
  • 2,461 cases of child abuse are reported
  • 7,000,000 fellow Americans are in the penal system

Our nation, our families and our children are clearly in deep crisis.  Misguided personal behavior is at the root of each tragic statistic. With a focus on instilling the understanding and traits that lead a person to become someone of "good character", we can begin to turn these frightful statistics around and thereby guide our nation to being the fountain of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".

Tools for Engagement:

Call to Character engages with partners to rally the American spirit and move our nation forward utilizing four distinct tracks:

  1. Declaration: Call to Character reminds us of the essential principles that have guided our nation, calling us as citizens to affirm and recommit to America's founding vision as we solve problems and chart our course to the future.
  2. Character in Leadership Initiative builds coalitions of leaders from diverse disciplines and civil society to promote standards of leadership and civic participation rooted in good character and universal ethical values.
  3. Profiles in Character tell the stories of men and women whose qualities of character inspire and enrich us all.
  4. The Good Neighbor Project promotes communication, cooperation and friendliness in our neighborhoods to rebuild a sense of cohesion and community spirit.

Impact:

Call to Character rallies the conscience and resolve of Americans in addressing the critical challenges that face our nation today by:

  • Engaging America's founding spirit, vision, and principles through a variety of means.
  • Fostering discussion of core issues toward a consensus on values, reinvigorating the ethical foundations of our nation.
  • Inspiring and motivating citizens toward personal virtue, integrity, self-reliance and responsibility.
  • Energizing citizens to improve their neighborhoods with a renewed spirit of community.

Call to Character seeks to involve patriotic Americans in every state, city, and community.  By participating in this campaign, you will join a network of like-minded citizens committed to putting America on the right track for our future.  Here is how you can immediately participate:
