Read the stories of men and women whose qualities of character can inspire and enrich us all. From the ordinary to the extraordinary, profiles will be broadcast from the local communities to the national level.
Criteria:
Individuals and organizations who are living by the core values described below and who embody those characteristics that form the basis of personal integrity and national character will be profiled.
Profiles in Character seeks candidates who have demonstrated excellence in any of the following:
- Demonstrate the best attributes of the American character: self-reliance, industry, responsibility, honesty, faith, courage, honor, and integrity.
- Respect individual rights with commitment to the virtue of living for the common good.
- Transcend differences of culture, race, or religion based on the recognition that all people share a common spiritual heritage; that within the core of our being we are the same.
- Serve and relate with others - with all people - with integrity, honesty and compassion, in all ways to "do unto others" as we would have them do unto us.
- Demonstrate commitment to strong and healthy families, promoting the essential values of love and respect, thereby teaching by personal action.
- Serve as community-builders by bringing consensus on shared values.
Opportunities:
Profiles in Character provides recognition of such outstanding individuals in various forums. Individuals profiled will be highlighted on the C2C website, within the local community through press releases, and through other print materials.
